How to set a PS5 login passcode

1. Open settings (gear icon).
2. Open Users and Accounts.
3. Select Login Settings.
4. Select Require a PS5 Login Passcode.
5. Enter your 4-digit passcode using the buttons on your controller. You can use up, down, L1/L2, R1/R2, triangle, circle, square, or cross (X).
6. Enter the new passcode one more time.

The login passcode is now enabled. Your PlayStation 5 user account will now require a 4-digit PIN code to log in.

How to change your current PS5 login passcode

1. Open settings (gear icon).
2. Open Users and Accounts.
3. Select Login Settings.
4. Select Change Your PS5 Login Passcode.
5. Enter your current 4-digit passcode using the buttons on your controller. You can use up, down, L1/L2, R1/R2, triangle, circle, square, or cross (X).
6. Enter a new passcode.
7. Enter the new passcode one more time.

Your login passcode is now changed.

How to delete your PS5 login passcode

Delete your passcode if you are the only one using the console and want to jump straight into your games faster.

1. Open settings (gear icon).
2. Open Users and Accounts.
3. Select Login Settings.
4. Select Delete Your PS5 Login Passcode.
5. Enter your 4-digit passcode using the buttons on your controller. You can use up, down, L1/L2, R1/R2, triangle, circle, square, or cross (X).
6. Select OK.

Your login passcode is now deleted.

How to reset your PS5 login passcode (if you forgot it)

Forgot your passcode? Don't worry. You can reset it from the sign-in screen without touching your console settings.

1. On the sign-in screen, enter any 4-digit passcode. After the 'Passcode is incorrect' message appears, select Forgot Passcode?.
2. On the Verify Your Account screen, scan the on-screen QR code with the PlayStation app on your phone, or enter your PSN password manually.
3. Once verified, enter your new 4-digit passcode and confirm it.

That's it. You're back in.

Verify account with the PlayStation app (PS App)

To verify your PS5 account using the PS App on your phone:

1. Open the PS App on your phone.
2. Open Settings (gear icon).
3. Tap Scan QR Code under Console Management.
4. Scan the QR code on the Verify Your Account screen on your PS5.
5. You'll get a message "Did you just try to sign in on your device". Tap Approve.
