This tutorial will show you step by step how to view your Facebook profile and/or page as someone else (friends or public) on a computer and on Android.

This way you can see how your timeline looks like to others and test your privacy settings or how your business or fan page looks like to your page's visitors.

Facebook "View as" Option

Some things you only want to share with a few people or maybe not with a specific person and certainly not to strangers (non friends), so that's why Facebook has privacy settings.

You might want to test your privacy settings to see if they're set correctly, and that's why Facebook also has a "View As" option to let you see how your profile looks like to strangers (public) or a specific person.

And:

Facebook also has a "View as Page Visitor" option for your business or fan page, so that you can view how your page looks like to a visitor.

How to See What Your Facebook Profile Looks Like to Others using a Computer

1. Open your web browser.

2. Go to Facebook.

3. Log into your account (if not already logged in).

4. Go to your profile (timeline).

5. Click on the [...] button located next to the "View Activity Log" button.

6. Click on "View As...".

7. Now Facebook will show you how your profile (timeline) looks like to the public (people who don't use Facebook). If you want to view your profile as a specific person, then you will need to click on "View as Specific Person" located in the black "This is what your profile looks like to:" bar at the top.

8. If you choose "View as Specific Person", then you will need to type a friend’s name and click on that person when he or she appears.

9. Now you can check if your privacy settings are set correctly.

10. When you're done viewing your profile as someone else, you go the black "This is what your profile looks like to:" bar and click on the (x) icon to close the view.

How to See What Your Facebook Profile Looks Like to Others on Android

This tutorial will work for all Android phones, such as Samsung Galaxy, Sony Xperia, Google Pixel, Lenovo, Motorola, Huawei, OnePlus, Nexus, HTC, LG, and all other Android phones.

Method 1: Facebook App

1. Open the Facebook app.

2. Log into your account (if not already logged in).

3. Tap on the 3-lines menu button located at the top right.

4. Tap on your name to go to your profile (timeline).

5. Tap on "View As" located underneath your username and profile picture.

Now you will see how your profile (timeline) looks like to the public (people who don't use Facebook).

6. When you're done viewing your profile as someone else, you tap on the "Exit" button located at the top right.

If you want to view your profile as a specific person, then follow the steps of method 2.

Method 2: Google Chrome

The "View As" feature in the Facebook app on Android only shows you how your profile (timeline) looks like to the public (people who don't use Facebook).

And:

The Facebook mobile website doesn't even have a "View as" option.

But:

There's still a little trick to view your profile as someone else by using a setting in the Google Chrome browser on Android.

1. Turn on "Screen rotation" on your Android smartphone, but you don't need to rotate your phone yet.

3. Open the Google Chrome menu.

4. Check "Request desktop site".

5. Go to Facebook.

6. Log into your account (if you're not logged in already).

7. Go to the address bar and change the m in the web address to web and tap on "Go" (keyboard/keypad). Example: https://m.facebook.com becomes https://web.facebook.com.

8. Rotate your smartphone, so that your screen will also be rotated.

Note: You might need to zoom in and scroll a little bit, to be able to easily find and tap the buttons and links.

9. Go to your profile (timeline).

10. Tap on the [...] button located next to "View Activity Log".

11. Tap on "View As...".

12. Now Facebook will show you how your profile (timeline) looks like to the public (people who don't use Facebook). 1. Go to your business or fan page.

2. Click on the [...] button located below your cover photo and next to the "Share" button.

3. Click on "View as Page Visitor".

Now you will see how your page looks like to the visitors of your page.

4. When you're done viewing your page as someone else, you go to "This is what your Page looks like to a visitor. Switch back to your view to manage this Page." located just above your cover photo and click on "Switch back to your view".

How to See What Your Facebook Business or Fan Page Looks Like to Others using Google Chrome on Android

5. Tap on the name of your page to go to your page.

Note: If you don't see the page in the list, then tap on "See All".

6. Tap on the ... (3 dots) located at the top right.

7. Tap on "Preview".

Now you will see how your page looks like to the visitors of your page.

8. When you're done viewing your page as someone else, you tap on the X located next to your page's name (e.g. X EasyTechGuides).

Method 2: Google Chrome
