Some things you only want to share with a few people or maybe not with a specific person and certainly not to strangers (non-friends), so that's why Facebook has privacy settings.

You might want to test your privacy settings to see if they're set correctly, and that's why Facebook has a “View as” option to let you see how your profile looks like to strangers (public) or a specific person.

And:

Facebook also has a “View as Page Visitor” option for your business or fan page, so that you can view how your page looks like to a visitor.

How to see what your Facebook profile looks like to others on a computer

1. Open your web browser.

2. Go to Facebook.

3. Log into your account (if not already logged in).

4. Go to your profile (timeline).

5. Click on the [...] button next to the View Activity Log button.

6. Click on View As.

7. Facebook will now show you how your profile (timeline) looks like to the public (people who don't use Facebook). If you want to view your profile as a specific person, then you will need to click on View as Specific Person located in the black bar at the top.

8. If you choose View as Specific Person, then you will need to type a friend's name and click on that person when they appear.

9. Now you can check if your privacy settings are set correctly.

10. When you're done viewing your profile as someone else, you go to the black bar and click on the (x) icon to close the view.

How to see what your Facebook profile looks like to others on Android

This tutorial will work for all Android phones, such as Samsung Galaxy, Sony Xperia, Google Pixel, Lenovo, Motorola, Huawei, OnePlus, Nexus, HTC, LG, and all other Android phones.

Method 1: Facebook app

1. Open the Facebook application.

2. Log into your account (if not already logged in).

3. Tap on the Facebook menu button (3-lines button at the top right).

4. Tap on your name to go to your profile (timeline).

5. Tap on View As located underneath your username and profile picture.

Now you will see how your profile (timeline) looks like to the public (people who don't use Facebook).

6. When you're done viewing your profile as someone else, you tap on the Exit button at the top right.

If you want to view your profile as a specific person, then follow the steps of method 2.

Method 2: Web browser

The “View as” feature in the Facebook application on Android only shows you how your profile looks like to the public (people who don't use Facebook).

But:

There is a trick you can use to view your profile as someone else by using an option that most Android web browsers have.

I know that Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Samsung Internet, Brave, Dolphin, and Opera have this option.

1. Turn on screen rotation on your Android phone, but do not rotate your phone yet.

2. Open your web browser.

3. Go to Facebook.

4. Log into your account (if you're not logged in already).

5. Go to your profile (timeline).

6. Tap on the browser's menu button. In many browsers, you can find the menu button in the top right corner of the screen.

7. Tap on Desktop, Desktop site, or Request desktop site.

Your browser will now open the desktop version of the Facebook website.

8. Go to the address bar and change the letter m in the web address to the word web and tap on Go (keyboard/keypad). Example: https://m.facebook.com becomes https://web.facebook.com.

9. Rotate your phone to change to landscape orientation (widescreen).

Note: You might need to zoom in and scroll a little bit, to be able to easily find and tap the buttons and links.

10. Tap on the [...] button next to View Activity Log.

11. Tap on View As.

12. Facebook will now show you how your profile (timeline) looks like to the public (people who don't use Facebook). If you want to view your profile as a specific person, then you will need to tap on View as Specific Person located in the black bar at the top.

13. If you choose View as Specific Person, then you will need to type a friend’s name and tap on that person when they appear.

1. Open your web browser.

4. Go to your business or fan page.

5. Click on the [...] button next to the Share button below the cover photo.

6. Click on View as Page Visitor.

7. When you're done viewing your page as someone else, you click on Switch back to your view located at the top.

5. Tap on the name of your page to go to your page.

Note: If you don't see the page in the list, then tap on See All.

6. Tap on the 3 dots located at the top right.

7. Tap on Preview.

Now you will see how your page looks like to the visitors of your page.

8. When you're done viewing your page as someone else, you tap on the X icon located at the top left.

Method 2: Web browser

I have tested the following steps on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Samsung Internet, Brave, Dolphin, and Opera.

1. Turn on screen rotation on your Android phone, but do not rotate your phone yet.

To go to your page, you click on the Facebook menu button (3 lines button at the top right), then tap on Pages, and then tap on the name of your page.

6. Tap on the browser's menu button. In many browsers, you can find the menu button in the top right corner of the screen.
