How to view saved passwords in Chrome, Edge, Firefox & Brave

This tutorial will show you step by step how to view saved passwords in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Brave in Windows, Mac, and Linux.

How to view a saved password in Google Chrome

1. Open Google Chrome.

2. Click on the menu button in the top right corner of your web browser. The menu button consists of three vertically aligned dots (⋮).

3. Click on Settings.

4. Make sure you're in the You and Google section.

5. In the You and Google section, and under Autofill, you click on Passwords.

Under Saved Passwords, you'll see all the passwords Google Chrome has saved.

6. To view a password, click on the eye icon beside it.

Alternatively, you can also click on the ⋮ (three vertically aligned dots) beside the password. Then click on Details. And then click on the eye icon next to the password.

It will ask you to authenticate your system user account before it can show the password.

7. Type the username and password you use to log into your computer.

8. Click on OK.

Google Chrome will now show the saved password.

To copy the password, you click on the ⋮ (three vertically aligned dots) beside the password, and then click on Copy password.



How to view a saved password in Microsoft Edge

1. Open Microsoft Edge.

2. Click on the menu button in the top right corner of your web browser. The menu button consists of three horizontally aligned dots (⋯).

3. Click on Settings.

4. Make sure you're in the Profiles section.

5. In the Profiles section, you click on Passwords.

Under Saved passwords, you'll see all the passwords Microsoft Edge has saved.

6. To view a password, click on the eye icon beside it.

Alternatively, you can also click on the ⋯ (three horizontally aligned dots) beside the password. Then click on Details. And then click on the eye icon next to the password.

It will ask you to authenticate your system user account before it can show the password.

7. Type the username and password you use to log into your computer.

8. Click on OK.

Microsoft Edge will now show the saved password.

To copy the password, you click on it. Then you press the [CTRL] + [A] keys on your keyboard to select the whole password. Then you right-click on the highlighted password and then click on Copy.



How to view a saved password in Mozilla Firefox

1. Open Firefox.

2. Click on the menu button in the top right corner of your web browser. The menu button consists of three horizontal lines (≡).

Alternatively, you can also click on the profile icon located in the top right corner, and then click on Logins and Passwords.

Now you'll see all the passwords Firefox has saved.

4. To view a password, click on the eye icon beside it.

Firefox will now show the saved password.

Unlike Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, you don't need to authenticate yourself before viewing passwords in Firefox by default.

If you want to protect your passwords in Firefox (and you should), then you will have to set a master password.

To set a master password, you click on the ⋯ (three horizontally aligned dots) located in the top right corner, and then you click on Options. This will bring you directly to the Logins and Passwords options.

Click on Use a master password.

Type your desired password, and then click on the OK button.



How to view a saved password in Brave

1. Open Brave.

2. Click on the menu button in the top right corner of your web browser. The menu button consists of three horizontal lines (≡).

3. Click on Settings.

4. In the left menu, you click on Additional settings.

5. Under Additional settings, you click on Autofill.

6. In the right section, and under Autofill, you click on Passwords.

Under Saved Passwords, you'll see all the passwords Brave has saved.

7. To view a password, click on the eye icon beside it.

It will ask you to authenticate your system user account before it can show the password.

8. Type the username and password you use to log into your computer.

9. Click on OK.

Brave will now show the saved password.

To copy the password, you click on it. Then you press the [CTRL] + [A] keys on your keyboard to select the whole password. Then you right-click on the highlighted password and then click on Copy.
