Soft- and hard reset your Windows Phone

Soft reset

A soft reset is the same thing as taking out your phone's battery (on phones where that is possible).

This method will not remove anything at all from your phone and is a completely safe thing to do in any problem situation.

Hard reset

A hard reset will bring your phone back to its factory settings (the same state as when the device was first turned on).

A hard reset will delete all applications, messages, videos, music, pictures, documents, personal settings, etc, from your phone.

Note: If you want to hard reset your Windows Phone, then you should make a backup of your data first (if it's possible), and then remove the SD card and SIM card.
