Online
If the PDF file contains private, sensitive, or confidential information, then I would not edit it online because you're uploading it to a server, and you don't know what will happen with it and what they will do with it.
How long will it be stored on their server? Will they really delete it? Will they read it? What if their server gets hacked? You will never know for sure what will happen to your information.
Anyway.
