This tutorial will work for all Windows Phone 8, 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile smartphones, such as the Nokia and Microsoft Lumia 435, 520, 530, 532, 535, 550, 620, 625, 630, 635, 638, 640, 650, 720, 730, 735, 830, 920, 925, 930, 950, 950 XL, 1020, 1320, 1520 and all other types.

How to Change Lock Screen Background Picture on Windows Phone 8 & 8.1

(Including, Nokia and Microsoft Lumia)

Method 1

1. Open "Photos".

2. Tap on the picture you want to use as your new lock screen background.

3. Tap on ... (3 dots) located at the bottom.

Note: If you don't see the three dots (...), then tap on the photo first.

4. Tap on "set as lock screen".

5. If you get the option to crop your picture, then swipe (move) the photo to the right position and tap on the check mark button (✔) located at the bottom of the screen.

The "crop" option appears when the size (dimensions) of the photo is bigger than the screen size of your smartphone.

6. Tap on the check mark icon (✔) located at the bottom.

7. Close settings.

Method 2

1. Open "settings".

2. Open "lock screen".

3. Make sure that "photo" is selected at "Background".

4. Tap on "change photo".

5. Go to the location on your phone where your pictures are stored.

6. Tap on the picture you want to use as your new lock screen picture.

7. If you get the option to crop your picture, then swipe (move) the photo to the right position and tap on the check mark button (✔) located at the bottom of the screen.

The "crop" option appears when the size (dimensions) of the photo is bigger than the screen size of your smartphone.

8. Tap on the check mark icon (✔) located at the bottom.

9. Close settings.

1. Open "Photos".

2. Tap on the picture you want to use as your new lock screen wallpaper.

3. Tap on ... (3 dots) located at the bottom.

5. Tap on the "Browse" button.

7. Tap on the picture you want to use as your new lock screen picture.

8. If you get the option to crop your picture, then swipe (move) the photo to the right position and tap on the check mark button (✔) located at the bottom of the screen.
