How to Upload & Share Pictures on Facebook

How to upload and share a single picture or multiple pics without creating a photo album.

  1. Click on "Photo/Video" on the home page.

    • Or if you are on your profile (timeline) click on "Photo/Video" and choose "Upload Photos/Video".

  2. Go to the picture or pictures you want to upload and share.
  3. Select the picture(s) and click on "Open".
  4. Now you will have the following optional options:
    • Say something about this photo...: here you can type anything you want about your picture.
    • Add more photos / videos or Photo / Video : if you want to add another picture.
    • Who where you with? or Tag Friends: to tag your friend(s) in your picture. Enter the name of a friend and click on his or hers name when they appear.
    • Photo Album: if you want to create a new photo album.
    • Feeling/Activity: to add what you are doing or/and how you are feeling on your picture, like:
      • Feeling
      • Watching
      • Listening To
      • Celebrating
      • Playing
      • Traveling To
      • Drinking
      • And more options
    • Check in: to add a location to your picture.
  5. If you want to share the picture(s) with everybody who's in your FB friends list, then just click on the "Post" button.
    • But:
    • If you want to choose with who you want or don't want to share the photo(s) with, then click on the "Friends" button and choose a option from the drop-down menu and click on the "Post" button.
    • Privacy options are:
      • Public

How to Delete Pictures on Facebook

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below your cover photo).

  3. Go to the picture you want to delete.
  4. Hover with your mouse-cursor on the photo, click on the pencil button, choose "Delete This Photo".

How to Create a Album on Facebook

It's a good idea to place all the photos that you want to upload and add to your new album together in a folder, so that you can upload them all at once.

  1. Click on "Photo Album" on the home page.

  2. Go to the pictures you want to upload and add to your new album.
  3. Select the pictures and click on "Open".
  4. At the left side you can enter a album name, description and location (where the pics are taken).
  5. If you want to add more photos then click on "+ Add More Photos" located at the right-top of the window.
  6. If you want to share the new album with everybody who's in your FB friends list, then just click on the "Post" button located at the left bottom.

How to Delete a Album on Facebook

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below your cover photo).

  4. Open the album you want to delete.
  5. Click on the gear button (located at the right-top) and choose "Delete Album" from the drop-down menu.

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).

How to Move Pictures to a Different Album on Facebook

How to move pictures from one album to another album.

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below your cover photo).

  4. Open the album where the pic(s) are located that you want to move to another album.
  5. Hover with your mouse-cursor on the photo you want to move, click on the pencil button, choose "Move To Other Album".

You can share your pictures and photo albums with everyone who's in your Facebook friends list.

But:

Did you know that you can also share photos and albums with people who aren't on Facebook?

Facebook has an option so that you can create a public link for each photo and album.

And:

Anyone with this public link will be able to view the picture(s) or album(s) – even if they don't use Facebook (non-Facebook users).

You can send this link by email, place it on your website or blog or share it on other social media networks such as Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn and Tumblr.

Just follow the steps to get this public link.

Share a Single Picture with Someone Who's NOT on Facebook

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below your cover photo).

  3. Go with your mouse-cursor on the photo you want to share.
  4. Click on the pencil button and choose "Get Link" from the drop-down menu.

  5. Right-click on the link and choose "Copy".

You can use this link to share your photo with anyone, even if they don't have a Facebook account. Anyone with the link will be able to see your photo.

Share a Photo Album with Someone Who's NOT on Facebook

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below your cover photo).

  3. Go to "Albums".
  4. Open the album you want to share.
  5. Click on the gear button located at the top right and choose "Get Link".

  6. Right-click on the link and choose "Copy".

You can use this link to share your photo album with anyone, even if they don't have a Facebook account. Anyone with the link will be able to see your photo album.

How to Change a Facebook Profile Background Cover Photo

You can create a nice looking profile (timeline) with the help of a cover photo also called background picture or wallpaper.

The perfect size for a timeline cover photo is 851 pixels width and 315 pixels height.

You can use any pic you want, because Facebook will crop it, so that it will fit.

If you are not satisfied with your current background picture or you don't have one yet, then you can easily change it, and I will show you in a few steps how you can do this.

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on the camera icon (located at the top left of your cover photo).
  3. Now you will have the following options:
    • Choose From My Photos
    • Upload Photo...
    • Reposition...
    • Remove...

  4. What to do with each option:
    • Choose From My Photos: a pop-up window with your Facebook pictures will open and here you can choose (click on) one of your pictures.
    • Upload Photo...
      1. Go to the location on your computer where the picture is stored.
      2. Select the photo.
      3. Click on "Open".
    • Reposition...
      1. Right-click on the cover photo and hold.
      2. Drag the picture to the position (top, left, right, down) of your choice.
    • Remove... and then click on "Confirm" to delete the cover photo.
  5. Drag the picture to the position of your choice.
    • Right-click on the cover photo and hold, then drag the picture to the position (top, left, right, down) of your choice, so that the best part of the picture is visible after cropping.
  6. Click on "Save Changes" to save your new timeline background cover picture.

How to Download Pictures from your Facebook Friends

This way you can download pictures in the best quality from everybody who's in your friendslist.

  1. Go to your friend's profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below the cover photo).

  3. Open the pic you want to download.
  4. Click on "Options" (located at the bottom of the pic) and choose "Download".

  5. Select a location on your computer where you want to save the pic and click on "Save".

How to Create a Shared Album on Facebook

You can add friends as contributors to your album, so that it becomes a shared album.

They will be able to add photos to the album and the album will also appear on their profiles (timelines).

I will show you step by step how to change your album to a shared album.

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below your cover photo).

  4. Open the album you want to change to a shared album.
  5. Click on "Change to Shared Album" (located at the top left).

  6. Enter your friend's name and select your friend.
    • Do this for everyone you want to add.
  7. Click on "Save".

How to Change Privacy Settings of a Album on Facebook

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below your cover photo).

  3. Click on "Albums" (located at the top).
  4. Click on the persons icon (located below the album) and choose new privacy settings from the drop-down menu.

      • Public

You can always change these privacy settings again.

How to Download Your Own Facebook Albums

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos" (located just below your cover photo).

  3. Click on "Albums" (located at the top).
  4. Open the album you want to download.
  5. Click on the gear button (located at the top right) and choose "Download Album".

  6. Click on "Continue" (when asked for).
  7. Facebook will now make your album ready for downloading. This may take a minute. When the album is ready to download you will get a notification and then you will need to click on the notifications icon and then click on the "Your album, ..., is ready to download" message (notification).

  8. Select a location on your computer where you want to save the album and click on "Save".

How to Make Your Facebook "Mobile Uploads" Album Private

  1. Click on the ▼ icon (top right) and choose "Settings" from the drop-down menu.

  2. Click on "Privacy" (left sidebar).
  3. Go to "Who can see my stuff".
  4. Go to "Who can see your future posts" and make sure that "Friends" or "Only Me" is selected. If not, then click on "Edit" and change it to "Friends" or "Only Me".
  5. Go to "Limit the audience for posts you've shared with friends of friends or Public?" and click on "Limit Past Posts".
  6. Click on the "Limit Old Posts" button.

  7. Click on "Confirm" and the settings will be saved and your "Mobile Uploads" album will be private.
  8. Click on "Close".
  9. To test if your "Mobile Uploads" album is really private and not visible to the public, open your profile (timeline).
  10. Click on the view facebook profile as... button located next to "View Activity Log".
  11. Click on "View As...".

    • Now you can see how your profile (timeline) looks in public.
  12. Click on "Photos".

If everything is set correctly you won't see your "Mobile Uploads" album in the photos and albums section.

How to Change Your Facebook Profile Picture

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Go with your mouse-cursor (pointer) on your profile picture.
  3. Click on "Update Profile Picture".

  4. Choose between the following options:
    • "Upload Photo" to upload a new picture stored on your PC.
      1. Go to the photo on your computer.
      2. Select the picture.
      3. Click on "Open".
    • "Take Photo" to make a new picture using the webcam of your PC.
    • Select one of the pictures that appear.
  5. Choose between the following options:
    • "Drag to Reposition" and drag the picture to the position you want.
    • "Skip cropping" to use the whole picture. Reposition the photo to set the thumbnail.
    • Move the dot to the small photo icon (left) to use the whole picture.

  6. If you are satisfied, then click on "Save" to save your new profile picture.
  7. If you want to edit (enhance) the picture, then click on the "Edit" button located just below the picture.
  8. Now you can edit the photo with:
    • Filters (effects)
    • Text
    • Stickers
    • Frames
  9. Click on "Save" (bottom right) when you're done editing.
  10. If you are satisfied, then click on "Save" to save your new profile picture.

How to Delete a Facebook Profile Picture

  1. Go to your profile (timeline).
  2. Click on "Photos".

  4. Open your "Profile Pictures" album.
  5. Go with your mouse-cursor (pointer) on the photo you want to delete.
  6. Click on the pencil button and choose "Delete This Photo".
