How to change the default search engine in Chrome and Edge
This tutorial will show you step by step how to change the default search engine in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on a computer.

How to change the default search engine in Google Chrome
1. Open Google Chrome.
2. Click on the menu button in the top right corner of your web browser. The menu button consists of three vertically aligned dots (⋮).

3. Click on Settings.

4. Click on Search engine in the left menu or scroll down to the Search engine settings.

5. Click on the drop-down menu button and select a search engine from the list (e.g., DuckDuckGo, Bing, etc.).

6. You can add or edit search engines by clicking on Manage search engines.

Tip: If you want to add another search engine, like Startpage, you visit Startpage.com, and then Startpage will automatically appear in the search engines list. Some search engines, like Startpage and Ecosia, have a Add to Chrome button on their website.
7. Click the three-dot icon next to the search engine you want to edit and then click on Make default, Edit, or Remove from list.

8. You can click on the Add button to add a search engine that's not on the list.

1. Open Microsoft Edge.
